Seiko Epson Corporation is a global superpower that delivers printing solutions to customers all around the world. But how did this mega corporation get started, and what did it take for one man, Seiko Epson, to start on of the most successful companies of all time?

A Background Of Seiko Epson

Before we can accurately describe how Seiko Epson was able to direct a company to major success in the printing industry, we should cover what initially made Seiko Epson such a success.

The company Seiko Epson founded, Seiko Epson Corporation, had a lot of success in manufacturing watches. The company itself is also attributed to creating milestones in quartz timers, which are essential for keeping time in watches. These successes and advances in quartz timers led the 1964 Tokyo Olympic Games board to select Seiko Epson for a special job: controlling printing via timers.

A Powerful Company Further Expands Its Reach

With the 1964 Tokyo Olympic Games job under control, Seiko Epson decided to start manufacturing electric printers. The first printer, EP-101, was released just four years after the 1964 Tokyo Olympic Games in 1968.

Just as in watches, the company made several advances that proved to be a key factor in obtaining home and business customers. Their first major breakthrough was the piezoelectric crystal technology that was developed. This technology, used in printers in 1993, allowed printing to be conducted without first heating the ink as was standard previously.

Further advancements came in just a year later, when Epson released a new high resolution printer for mass production to consumers. This allowed casual photographers to have access to cheap printing methods- which, in turn, gained a lot of business for Epson.

Why Home Users and Businesses Flock to Epson Printers

Home and business users, on average, prefer Epson printers over the competition. This is due mostly in part to the fact that Epson has constantly been on the edge of new technology. As previously discussed with crystal research a high resolution alternatives to printing, their innovation has led unto much of their success.

But Epson hasn't stopped producing and manufacturing new technologies. Epson is famous for releasing all in one solutions for businesses. If a business needs multiple components in addition to a printer such as a scanner Epson answers the call of duty with their cost saving super printers.

Newer technologies for home users have been made available as well. Some Epson printers pass the bar with LCD screens on the printer itself for printing without the need of a computer. Other models of printers function with this LCD capability, all while allowing for basic image editing on the fly. Suddenly, image editing doesn't take time toiling away at the computer just a printer and
a touchpad!

Lastly, home and business users appreciate the level of quality achieved with Epson printers. Newer models can guarantee a lifetime of over 150 years for printed paper in pristine conditions. This means that consumers won't have to keep reprinting documents that seem to have fading ink plague them only after a month of use.

The Seiko Epson story is truly a great one- it's a story of how a company refused to stop innovating and creating new technologies. As a result, the printer superpower is on top of the world in printing sales, and if the track record continues, this will only be more apparent in the future.
