Situated near the French Normandy, Jersey is the British Island that has people wondering how such a small place can pack this much of a punch. It does not really belong to UK nor is it part of the European Union; it is just a Crown possession. It is the largest amidst all the British Channel islands, and the climate here is pleasant through the year, winters and summers are mild, not tilting towards either extreme. Based on a survey taken, it was discovered that nearly 45% of the population was from other parts of the world.

When you do decide to visit the Island of jersey, be sure to have gathered adequate information from friends and others who've been here earlier. This list of five must visit places will also come in handy while planning out your itinerary.

The Jersey Art Centre is where every kind of activity related to arts, including performing art takes place and this is an extremely popular tourist destination. Many tourists book to see a show here during their vacations in Jersey. There are shows, plays, and performances taking place on a daily basis, which could be by professionals or by amateurs, but either ways, don't miss out on this place. The palatial view, the interiors and the amount of information within the walls will astound any person stepping into this venue.

The Royal Jersey Showground is where all the conferences and events take place in Jersey. The serene countryside offers a luxurious view of the entire locality and allows visitors to choose what they wish to see out here. One can even hold family gatherings and other events here in the halls within the campus. It is within walking distance from the capital town of St .Helier, making it easy accessible by everyone living on the islands.

Jersey Zoo was founded by Gerald Durrell and is home to many of the endangered species of animals and birds. The animals within the walls have full freedom to roam the length of the place, with no fences or cages. The center also breeds some of the endangered species of wild life and lets them loose in the wild, thereby helping the ecology survive and flourish. Not just kids, but adults too enjoy a visit to this Zoo which is spread across hundreds of acres and has the most exotic kinds of birds seen ever in the world.

Jersey War Tunnels is a fascinating museum and it tells the story of how the Germans occupied the islands during the 2nd World war. And of how the island has grown since then is what makes these Jersey War tunnels so amazing and intriguing for the tourists.

Hauteville House is a home that was once inhabited by Victor Hugo, when he was in Exile and is a popular spot visited by most tourists. This is where he is said to have written Les Miserables, and one can see the furniture, books, and other items used by Hugo preserved within the Hauteville House.

Many holiday makers spend a family holiday in Jersey and stay in a holiday villa, self catering holiday apartment or holiday cottage. They can rent these holiday homes in Jersey direct from their owners and they make excellent holiday accommodation in Jersey.
