Plumbing services are needed by everyone, be it a residential complex or an industrial house. For example your tasks may include making sure that there is availability of clean drinking water in an apartment or fixing the air conditioner or a central heating system of a place and likewise many more of such work.

The work that you will have shall vary depending on the area that you work. You could be working in a domestic enterprise or a commercial enterprise. Although the work here will not be entirely the same, bur some of the tasks here would include.

1. Installing water supplies, installing heating systems and also installing and repairing drainage systems.

2. Your work may include servicing of gas and oil fired heating systems, like wise you may also need to repair radiators and boilers.

3. Your work may include installing and fixing domestic appliances such as showers and washing machines.

You may also need to cut shape and fit in panels that are made from various metals such as aluminium, copper, lead or zinc. If this is your area of interest you can think about specializing in sheet metal work and work for commercial and historic buildings.
It is important that you have a formal training before you can become a professional plumber; there are various colleges that offer you courses in plumbing. Different colleges have different entrance requirements, some of them have an entrance aptitude test, this course cannot be taken by you in case you are colour blind, and this restriction is as per the health and the safety regulations. You should check with your chosen college if there are such restrictions and if they offer a colour vision assessment teat.

It is strongly recommended by industrial bodies, that you get an employment with a plumbing fir as soon as possible after you start your training; this will give you on the job exposure and will train you in a more practical way. Although, most of the colleges have job placement facilities, but you should also try dropping your CVs at different places in order to get a plumbing job.
